I want to cut one down a little, but I don't want to cut the stock on this new gun.
Is it a original Winchester with a true collector value, or a Italian copy we buy only to shoot this game?
I have a miter box if it helps.
I didn't mention it in the text, but it is in the title - it's a Uberti stock.
I didn't want to cut the original because, it I ever sell it, it will sell better with an "unmolested" stock.
If looking at resale on your Uberti is a concern I would not cut it, I think a new stock is like 100$.
Why do you want to cut it?
Lady and youth have a shorter pull, 1100 or so new.
Lot of folks cut the stock to suit them, then when they buy a new gun put cut stock on new gun and new stock on old gun and sell.
A new stock is $195 (finished). An unfinished stock (very rough) is $95.
I mau have a rifle stock you could cut off. Or use the crescent butt.
I'd like to see it and know how much you want for it. I assume it will fit the carbine model.
Taylors sometimes have blem stocks at a reasonable price.
I purchased blems before from VTI and saved a few dollars.
