Slow Jen and I painted the targets this evening, had several cans that did not work.
Cheap Walmart no shelf life.
She wanted to shoot so we brought out our pistols and a small can of ammo.
We shot 20 each and there was 6 left,
No sense in taking those back so I loaded 1 at a time and had her throw the paint bottles in the air, took 5 tries or 5 throws to hit it in the air from the holster(she throws like a girl).
Just plain fun!
Anyone else having fun?

I have plenty of cans left and will loaon a loaded round to any one who wants to try it!

I must agree with Picket. All my non-match shooting is either at an indoor range or at the ORSA action pistol range. No plinking or aerial targets at them.
Fun is at a premium of any kind, right now.
Also, there is not too much life in the forums for a while now.
Depression, and apathy are widespread, and some of that leaks over into Cowboy Action, I think.
Many can't participate due to underlying conditions, and the rest of us can't be as free as once was.
However, Cowboy matches have always been a great escape from the world and we don't need to
lose sight of that. Hopefully someday there will be more than the "New Normal."
CAS is only a game, but remember: That is the beauty of it!
It's true, all being said, that we are not doing Tn. State, or Ambush partly because of the state of things
but mostly L.K.'s pain level.
As for me, I have been having "fun," and excitement roofing my front porch, and working in firewood
for the winter.

Slow Jen and I hang out at the shed quite often in the evenings.
During carpenter bee season we like to hit them with old badminton rackets , not challenging enough so I grab the kids old red rider and shoot them out of the air!
Got to where I could hit them 50% of the time!
Shooting is shooting its fun!

I, like others, miss seeing many of the friends I have made over the years at the matches.
Illness and the current virus has keep many away.
I would rather look forward than behind, so 2021 will be more fun for all, no matter what cards we are dealt. ;)
About 30 years ago a friend of mine had built a really nice cabin in the mountains.
Today it would be called a tiny house. He complained often about carpenter bees destroying his work.
I told him I knew how to take care of them. Soon, he invited me there for a weekend.
Being careful of the cabin, of course, I began to shoot carpenter bees out of the air with a Colt single-action
.22 pistol I still have. I decimated the bee population.
He said he'd never seen anyone who could shoot like that. Told everyone about it.....
Finally, much later, I told him I was shooting .22 rat shot.

The best carpenter bee fun is a45colt . I use a small amount of any powder and fill case with old tumbler media. Put a cardboard wad and crimp or hot glue and you can shoot anything without damage. Works in rifle too.
Cinches and Fast Harley s stories reminded me of when I was a kid shooting Flys on the porch with a colt single action 22, we shot blanks and had to be close.
Get bored with that and go to the corn crib and shoot rats for awhile with 22 rnds.
Haven't thought about that in years!
P.s carpenter bees tend to hover still for a moment thats when to hit them with the bb

As far as chid hood stories go shooting turtles off a log makes you country , eating them makes you redneck!( taste like chicken).
Fun to put a pencil in their mouth after starting the soup 30 minutes earlier.
dang charly, that's redneck for sure. i think the closest i've come to redneck is boiling some crawfish I caught in the creek by the road.
Tried Cinch's carpenter bee load in .45 L.C., went one better and made a .38 load.
Both worked well in testing, today!
Used a small amount of Tite Group for powder, filled the case with used media, a thin fiber wad on top,
crimped, then sealed it with one drop of candle wax.
A square of paper towel for a target, at six feet. Amazing!
