I know everyone is hush-hush about their primer supplies these days, but I have an amusing anecdote... Earlier this week, I found myself at Academy Sports for some reason. I happened to swing by the hunting section and spoke with the ammo guy about the state of his supply, to which he responded, "come by early thursday or sunday, that's when our stock is refreshed." He was close-lipped about what type, brand, or quantity of ammo or primers he might have on the way. Anyway, I swung by that store this morning 4 minutes after opening - 9:04am... as I pulled into the parking lot, 7 cars/trucks were peeling out of the parking lot in all directions as if a bank robbery just transpired. I witnessed at least one near wreck. I cautiously parked and walked towards the store, passing probably a dozen or so disappointed shoppers with nothing in their hands, angrily leaving the store. I arrived at the hunting section and saw a handful of people gawking over what looked to be two remaining boxes of some sort of rifle ammo that they apparently had no idea if they could use or not. Finally one of them bravely just grabbed the boxes and left.
This continues to be our foreseeable future.
I went to Academy in Dalton on Monday( Monday and Thursday are delivery days here) at 8:45 some 60 people in line after I got in line another 20 got in line behind me. This store never carries primers however I have had good luck getting ammo here. Time I got to ammo shelf it was bare nothing to be had. Many left empty. I for one am not going through that again.
