I know of at least 2 newly aquirrred P. C .C s'.
We had a side match at black gold and there will be a side match at comming at ya.
Any interest in a quick side match at T.M.M before or after the August 3rd saturday match?
I'm interested, but we just need to work out a few details.
For those that don't know. Charly came in first at the P.C.C. side match at the Black Gold Shootout in Ky. There were more than a few shooters there that were experienced in this type match, and HC "smoked 'em". - But don't let that stop you if you want to participate in a future local match. I'm sure HC will spot each shooter a FIVE TARGET HEAD START ! ::)
Sam
Dumb luck helped me at black gold .
I have never shot a match and have the wrong guns for it.
Shooting that side match man on man style gave me the same intense adrenalin rush I got the first time I shot cowboy!!
I saw people shooting HIGH POINTS,KELTECHS ,CAMP 9S, RUGERS AND TRICKED OUT AT 9S and everyone loved it!
Nothing will replace c.a.s for me but this may add fun to the already T.M.M REGULAR SHOOT!
IF YOU WANT TO TRY LET ME KNOW.
Don't have a gun I'll loan you mine and we will shoot the governors bullets!
I'm in!
Sounds like fun to me
Well, Guess I'm more interested in the cowboy era and would rather not see the mixing of other shooting sports including Wild Bunch at SASS/CAS events. There are speed events for all cowboy firearms if you want to have side matches.
Keystone I understand you're feelings a cowboy shoot Should be a cowboy shoot!
This was just a idea to add more fun to our monthly match.
Many folks can't shoot in their back yard or may not belong to a gun range.
Just a opportunity to try something new and get more trigger time.
I'll bring a extra mag for you,you may just like it!
The Governor is in but you have to bring your own bullets.
This will be a quick side match in the morning.
If the Govenor isn't supplying bullets it may be very quick!
Stage 6 8am to 9am.
I sure hope I can be there.
As far as not cowboy. Big deal it's before the match on an unused bay. Just a way to have fun and burn up some ammo.
I am at heart a cowboy shooter, but I do own a Ruger PC carbine that I haven't shot yet. I think this might be fun.
I don't think there is any chance of this becoming a regular thing at TMM. Charly and I talked about doing a few other different occasional side matches. The idea is just to add a little "spice" to monthly matches. If trying a few other things draws in a few more shooters, I think this would be a good thing.
I've thought that maybe having a abbreviated cowboy shotgun trap match might also be fun.
I have given thought to this p.c.cside match before I posted it.
I have received a email from a good friend of T.M.M and a personal friend of mine expressing some concerns.
I have not posted till now because I wanted to × my t.s and .my i.s.
The email and concern come from knowing we have a great thing going at T.M.M and I appreciate it
Are we insured to do this ?
YES.
Are we a legal shooting club?
YES.
Are the property owner and my freind LAYTON(RAM ROD) OK WITH THIS
Yes.
Cooperjacketed bullets ok?
YES, we will not be shooting steel at cowboy distances, and some states want to only allow Cooper rnds.
Getting it done in a timely fashion?
92 shooters 6 stages done by 1.15pm,hot food hot, ice cream froze!
YES.
IT HAS NOT BEEN MENTIONED BUT I KNOW THIS IS A PARTLY FANASTY GAME!
SO TO BE MINDFUL OF THAT WE WILL DO THIS ON STAGE 1.
3 reasons 1 anyone who doesn't want to see it won't.
2know worry about people getting out of car, signing up with out glasses.
3 and most importantly the old targets are in paint shed which is 233 feet closer to stage 1.
As far as I know no one is a pro at this p.c.c. thing but my #1 goal is the saftey of my freinds and continued success of T.M.M.
THIS IS A GOOD CHANCE TO TRY SOMETHING NEW!
YOU CAN USE MY GUN AND THE GOVENERS BULLETS,WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE!
THANKS HURRICANE CHARLY.
I know Charly had this under control. Two Step and I have shot these guns at my targets at home at a distance of 15 yards. No damage to targets or any bounce back with 115gn jacketed bullets. The Governor and Two Step are ready to shoot a fun side match. Anyone who would like to give it a try can use my gun. Actually it is a pistol with a 10 1/2" barrel. Just bring some cheap 9mm bullets.
Charly,
Any idea yet on a round count or number of magazines?
Knockdowns or just ringing steel?
I'm up for whatever .
Judge I haven't wrote anything yet but thinking stand and deliver.
2 close paper stationary steel futher out and ten k.d.s with a stop plate.
Rnd count maybe 28?
Want to keep things moving.
Go 1 for 1 no reload with 2 to spare, spray and pray you may need reload!
I know that I've waffled back and forth about this. I'm in. Thanks for the details HC.
Sam
Glad you're in Sam!
Shame to see that gun rust in the safe and life's to short not to have as much fun as possible.
I will be posting the gun handling rules so people will be up to speed when they get there.
The Governor says "'lets shoot ".
The President seconds that motion !
I have a couple of people who are going to shoot my gin
If anyone else is interested in giving it a try just say the word.
How we will do this side match in general.
Pre load you're magazine's the night before to save time in the morning I think we will have quite a few shooters.
Look in you're gun box for the plastic chamber flag.
Show up at bay 1 with loaded mags not in gun, chamber flag inserted.( if you don't have1 saftey on bolt locked open)
Get in line we T.O calls you forward he will give order to load and make ready.
After string of fire drop mag rack bolt point gun down range pull trigger, upend bolt T.O will insert chamber flag gun is now safe.
Return to load table or cart watching muzzle(no one likes getting swept)
BIG RULE IS NO BOLT MANIPULATION UNLESS ON FIRING LINE!!!!!!!!
We will have rounds down range at 8am shoot as much as you want time permitting.
Fasted time for male and female will be recorded.
Get there early side match ends at 9 am.
End count 26 targets any order but stop plate must be last shoot it before all others time does not count.
Extra mags on person o staged on table.
2 get off me close paper targets, dbl tap 2 stationary steel triple tap 10 kids l stop k.d.
This will be fun!
Don't have a gun, never done it we have guns and will help and encourage just like we cowboys and girls are known for.
15 knock downs .
1 stop knock down which must be shot last.
How many rounds do we need to shoot the stage?
26 if you go 1 for 1.
2 dbl taps on paper,2 triple taps on steel,15 knock downs, and last but not least special knock down to stop clock.
26 rounds.
Howdy,
Not that I plan to participate but is there a standard size magazine or could someone just use a high capacity 30 round mag and not have to reload?
Keystone,
Most of the 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbines shoot the Glock type of mag. Some use Beretta or others.
There are after market and Glock made mags in every size you can think of. 10 to 32 rounds.
I know it ain't cowboy but it's so much fun. I'll even let you shoot my gun and ammo if you'd like.
Keystone the Judge is correct!
10 end to 50 rnds magazine's.
Some places write in mandatory reloads.
This isn't a real competition so due to time and wanting everyone to have fun there is no mandatory reload which really helps people new to this get their feet wet and not be intimidated or frustrated.
The JUDGE is also right that it's a lot of fun, I know Mr, horse doc, and cactus red were grinning like school kids when we did it at Black Gold!
Keystone, come on down and see what this is about. Better yet you can run a 30 round magazine thru my pistol.
Hope you give it a try Keystone !
Make you a deal ! Our guns and ammo and if you don't like it I'll buy all the salsa and chips you can eat at Los Potros!
Can't promise I will be there this month (depends on who in the family is coming to Cleveland)...but...iffin I do make it...will a box of 50 factory 9MM cover the cost of admission (using borrowed pistol...I DO understand .300 BO ain't a pistol caliber ;D)...or do I need more?...
As for "pistol carbine" in cowboy action...
I LOVE you're post so much that you need bring nothing to the p.c.c match ( especially the 300 black out!) I got you covered!
Bring you're family love to meet them!
SALSA AND CHIPS ON ME!
P.c.c stage is set thanks to the set up crew!
We will shoot it under cover on stage 1.
8am till 9am.
