Mongo will have surgery next week to have his other knee replaced. Hope this surgery will be as successful as the first one.

Had a positive visit with the sawbonz. All the newly added hardware stayed in place post-surgery. He's given me permission to drive whenever I feel able. I give y'all advance notice beforehand. Looks like October 14th may be my return to shooting. Thanks for the prayers, good thoughts & cards.

Recovery is slow & pain is somewhat controllable. Walking in circles inside without the walker and managing the steps up to bedroom & bathroom are not too difficult. Hope to walk outside once the temps cool down. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers.

I appreciate all the folks who aided in preparing the site, setting up the stages & running the match. Sure was good to be back on the range again. I hope the owners & property managers will be willing to permit the cowboys to continue shooting at this facility.

I'm saddened to report that my good friend TN Hawk passed away this morning. His health has been in decline for several years. He now sits around the campfire with Preacher Red, Tn Crittr & Lightning McCoy. God rest his soul.

Visitation will be held at Steven's Mortuary, 1304 Oglewood Ave, just off North Broadway from 1-2pm on Sunday Aug. 21st. Service will be conducted following visitation. Graveside will be on Monday Aug. 22nd at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 Adair Drive, at 11am. Cowboy attire is welcomed.

This is indeed sad news. My sincere condolences to Double Barrel, family and friends. I can't imagine the grief of the death of a child. So very sad.
