General Talk / Howdy from Keystone

Hello Y'all,

At last month's June 18th match I suffered a stroke. Many thanks to all the folks that jumped into action to get me the emergency care I needed and took care of my shooting gear. I spent four days at Erlanger Hospital and on Wednesday afternoon made the trip to Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville. After some excellent rehab I was released from in-patient rehab on June 31st. I began out-patient therapy at Tennova West on June 6th and have progressed quite well. I have been allowed to resume independent light workouts at the gym between rehab sessions. Handling my pistols, at home, is part of my rehab. I hope to resume CAS around Aug 1st if all goes well. Thanks to all for your support, prayers, cards & good thoughts!

General Talk / Thanks to All

Thanks to all the folks who put yesterdays match together. I enjoyed the stages & Posse #1 ran smooth with leadership from Double Eagle Dave with assistance from Ocoee Red. Hard to believe we didn't have rain during the match. We only had 3 clean matches, Bad Eye Tom, Marshall Too Tall & meownself. No clean match for Double Barrel, the smoke must have gotten in his eyes. Speaking of smoke, I sure do get a kick out of Bad Eye Tom shooting FC with 7-1/2" stainless Vaqueros. Cherokee Slim was shooting a "new to him" pump rifle and he seemed to shoot it well after the first stage. Congratulations to Purly the highest finishing posse member for his 2nd place finish. I think the sniffles hindered him a bit. Once again, thanks to all the cowgirls & cowboys at the TMM.

PS. Thank you Sudden Sam for posting the scores so expeditiously.

General Talk / Posse #2, A Duke's Mixture
« on: March 31, 2019, 12:19:56 PM »
Seems we covered many categories and various levels of shooting expertise. Tennessee Williams & Reno Mustang led the way with some fine shooting. Tenn. Critr showed us how Josey Wales could handle targets with just revolvers. Long Gulch, Double Barrel and Bad Eye Tom were pleased to have a tail wind to disperse smoke. Shenandoah Will is on the mend and shot well except for having to engage shotgun targets Outlaw style. Wayfaring Stranger & nephew Jaden King shot their first CAS/SASS matches and Stranger's son Wayfaring Kid helped pick up brass. Danny Grotto made his return to shooting after several years away. Of the 21 shooters on Posse #2, (10) shot clean matches and (12) won their category. It was good to see folks from near & far and appreciate everyone working together to keep the posse to moving along.

PS Y'all come shoot the Reunion Match at the Oak Ridge Outlaws on April 13th.

General Talk / TMM in GA or TN
« on: November 27, 2018, 04:17:25 PM »

Was looking at the SASS website page for Affiliated Clubs and noticed TMM is listed in the State of TN and not GA. I thought TMM was in Ringgold, GA.

I'm currently shooting a pair of Cimarron 1872 Navy Open Tops in .45 Colt with case hardened frame/ blued cylinder/ 5-1/2" blued barrel. I'm looking for a back-up pistol.

Thanks, Keystone

What a great day for a match. My guess is there were around 70 other shooters who enjoyed shooting today. Thanks to the Marauders for a good match. No complaints, just a swell day to be a cowboy.  ;D
