Glad you're in Sam!
Shame to see that gun rust in the safe and life's to short not to have as much fun as possible.
I will be posting the gun handling rules so people will be up to speed when they get there.

How we will do this side match in general.
Pre load you're  magazine's the night before to save time in the morning I think we will have quite a few shooters.
Look in you're  gun box for the plastic chamber flag.
Show up at bay 1 with loaded mags not in gun, chamber flag inserted.( if you don't have1 saftey on bolt locked open)
Get in line we T.O calls you forward he will give order to load and make ready.
After string of fire drop mag rack bolt point gun down range pull trigger, upend bolt T.O will insert chamber flag gun is now safe.
Return to load table or cart watching muzzle(no one likes getting swept)
BIG RULE IS NO BOLT MANIPULATION  UNLESS ON FIRING LINE!!!!!!!!

We will have rounds down range at 8am  shoot as much as you want time permitting.
Fasted time for male and female will be recorded.
Get there early side match ends at 9 am.
End count 26  targets any order but stop plate must be last shoot it before all others time does not count.
Extra mags on person o staged on table.
2 get off me close paper targets, dbl tap 2 stationary  steel triple tap 10 kids l stop k.d.
This will be fun!
Don't have a gun, never done it we have guns and will help and encourage just like we cowboys and girls are known for.

Hurricanecharly

15 knock downs .
1 stop knock down which  must be shot last.

Purly

How many rounds do we need to shoot the stage?
Territorial Governor

Hurricanecharly

26 if you go 1 for 1.
2 dbl taps on paper,2 triple taps on steel,15 knock downs, and last but not least special knock down to stop clock.
26 rounds.

Keystone

Howdy,

Not that I plan to participate but is there a standard size magazine or could someone just use a high capacity 30 round mag and not have to reload?

Judge

Keystone,

Most of the 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbines shoot the Glock type of mag. Some use Beretta or others.

There are after market and Glock made mags in every size you can think of. 10 to 32 rounds.

I know it ain't cowboy but it's so much fun. I'll even let you shoot my gun and ammo if you'd like.

Hurricanecharly

Keystone the Judge is correct!
10 end to 50 rnds  magazine's.
Some places write in mandatory reloads.
This isn't a real competition  so due to time and wanting everyone  to have fun there is no mandatory reload which really helps people new to this get their feet wet and not be intimidated or frustrated.
The JUDGE is also right that it's a lot of fun, I know Mr, horse doc, and cactus red were grinning like school kids when we did it at Black Gold!

Purly

Keystone, come on down and see what this is about. Better yet you can run a 30 round magazine thru my pistol.

Hope you give it a try Keystone !
Make you a deal ! Our guns and ammo and if you don't like it I'll  buy all the salsa and chips you can eat at Los Potros!

Limp Along Charlie

Can't promise I will be there this month (depends on who in the family is coming to Cleveland)...but...iffin I do make it...will a box of 50 factory 9MM cover the cost of admission (using borrowed pistol...I DO understand .300 BO ain't a pistol caliber  ;D)...or do I need more?...

As for "pistol carbine" in cowboy action...
