Rule change

As most of you know the TG' S will be voteing on changing the rule for bringing a cocked rifle to fireing line, which currently is a SDQ, to a no call if there is not a round in the chamber. If a shooter comes to the fireing line with the hammer back on a rifle he/she will be saftly point the rifle downrange and pull the trigger. If there is a round in the chamber it will be a SDQ. If the chamber is empty it will be a no call.
This will be up for discussion at the November  match. We will also have a club vote to see how you would have me vote . Please add any comments you may have or any discussion points.

After speaking with you today, I took a moment  to think about this and also read other forums to see what people think.
I feel very uncomfortable  with someone  coming  to the firing line with a fully  cocked rifle or for that matter  revolvers.
We load rifle and pistols at loading table, never shot guns so shot gun is a none issue for me.
In the short time I've been shooting  what I've seen most is a 73 on half cock.
If it's on half cock it can't fire,  all the shooter can do is lever a round in or Jack a round in the chamber out.
I'll leave this discussion  to more experienced folks, but my 2 cents are full cocked rifle, revolvers make me nervous, half cock seems safe.
Ps nice to have a loading table officer, but not always possible  even at big matches, in the end you are responsible for you!

I agree with Charley there is a big difference between half cocked and full cocked. Since I have been shooting there have been 2 AD's by parsons not on the firing line they both occurred on the loading table.
